Why are people choosing revenge over equality?

Remember when minorities of the past were denied jobs because they weren't white? That's changed now, basically the exact opposite. Today, there's something called affirmative action. It's when a white person gets denied a job because of a minority, even when the white person did better in an interview. I think it would be better if they only hired the minority because he or she did better during an interview than a white person, not because of the past. Affirmative action isn't equality, it's revenge. Weird thing is, other white people in the government created America's affirmative action. Don't accuse me of being a racist. I only think it's so unbelievably stupid that the minority have been fighting for equality for so many years, and when they got it, they were still ranting. I'm not generalizing and if I'm sounding like I am just imagine I'm not.
