Why is Hume's Enquiry Into the Principles of Morals so straightforward and clear compared to his other books?

I think this is one of the best books on ethics. Was Hume influenced by Rousseau here? You think?? They were friends. Why the sudden change in style for Hume? He drops his earlier pretense and lets his hair down. His writing is amazing here.
