How do I identify what is a covalent bond?

A covalent bond is a bond in which 2 atoms share electrons. An ionic bond is formed when 2 atoms of opposite charges attract each other. Covalent bonds occur between a 2 nonmetals, while an ionic bond requires both a metal and non metal (2 metals bonded together is known as a metallic bond)
