Why is kel less popular than Kenan? From Kennan and Kel?

i mean kennan is doing snl shows so that shows hes probably making bank. so why is kel not doing big comedy things like kennan. i felt that the viewers loved kel alot more and especially orange soda. Kennan was just a greedy loud arrogant guy.
